Why Cyprus Is Perfect for a Guided Walking Holiday

Image
Why Cyprus Is Perfect for a Guided Walking Holiday Cyprus might be famous for sunshine and beaches, but lace up your walking boots and you’ll discover a very different side of the island — one that’s rich in mountain paths, quiet villages, ancient stories and unforgettable shared moments. If you love exploring on foot, enjoying good company, and coming home with more than just photos, Cyprus is a brilliant choice for a guided walking holiday. Our  guided walking holidays in Cyprus  are designed to help you experience the island beyond the beaches, with time to connect, explore and enjoy the journey together. A Small Island with Big Variety One of the joys of walking in Cyprus is just how much variety you can experience in a single trip. In one week you might wander through pine-scented mountain trails in the Troodos Mountains, stroll along dramatic coastal paths, and explore traditional villages where time seems to move a little slower. Each walk brings something differ...

Finding Healing in Motion: How Travel Helps Us Move Through Grief

Image
Finding Healing in Motion: How Travel Helps Us Move Through Grief Two years ago today, my dad was taken from us. Even now, the weight of his absence hasn’t lessened — it’s simply changed shape. He was woven into the fabric of my life: my sense of humour, the way I see the world, and the way I navigate uncertainty. I still catch myself asking for his help with decisions, half-expecting an answer or a joke that would make everything feel a little lighter. Every day he is missed. Every day he is remembered. Grief doesn’t follow rules, and healing rarely unfolds in a straight line. But through these years, I’ve learned that sometimes healing happens not by staying put, but by moving — by stepping into new places, new light, new air. Travel, whether planned or spontaneous, can quietly open doors to understanding, comfort, and perspective. It doesn’t erase loss, but it can help us carry it differently. How Travel & Cyprus Can Heal the Mind

Image
How Travel & Cyprus Can Heal the Mind Looking after ourselves physically is something many of us manage with routine and determination — we exercise, eat well, and push our bodies in ways that deliver visible results. But healing the mind is a different kind of journey. It’s slower, more delicate, and often requires a change of environment to truly begin. Our mental wellbeing shapes everything: our happiness, our resilience, and our ability to move forward in life. Yet it’s often the part we give the least attention to. It wasn’t until I began travelling more that I realised how deeply healing travel can be. Leaving behind the noise, pressure, and responsibilities of daily life gives the mind permission to breathe. Travelling places us somewhere new — somewhere that gently encourages us to reset, reflect, and rediscover ourselves. The Mental Health Benefits I’ve Experienced Travel helps me release stress in a way nothing else quite can. Simply stepping into a new environm...

November the Month to Remember

Image
A Time to Remember November has always been a month I find difficult. Across the world, it is a time for reflection — a time to remember the hundreds of thousands of soldiers who gave their lives fighting for their countries. For as long as I can remember, the sacrifices those men and women made for our future have filled me with awe, respect, and deep emotion. Even now, it moves me to think of children, some as young as twelve, who lied about their age so that they could join the forces and go to war — to fight, to protect, and, for so many, to never return. And then there were the countless adults who chose to step forward, ready to sacrifice everything so that we could live in freedom. Of course, November is not the only time we remember — remembrance happens throughout the year. But November brings it to the forefront. It is their month. The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month marks the moment the guns fell silent in 1918, signalling the end of the First World War. That mo...

A Food Lover’s Adventure in Cyprus

Image
A Food Lover’s Adventure in Cyprus I’ll openly admit it — I love food. One of my favourite parts of group travel is the joy of tasting new flavours, trying different dishes, and exploring local cuisine with like-minded adventurers. Being a Mediterranean island, Cyprus is bursting with seasonal flavours that shift as the months roll by, thanks to its fresh, local produce. Honestly, the food is one of the main reasons I chose to make Cyprus my home — I simply can’t get enough of it! Cyprus is very much a meat-loving nation, and many of its most traditional and well-loved dishes feature meat. But don’t worry — there’s no shortage of fresh fruit, vibrant vegetables, and irresistible pastries that locals adore just as much. A Morning Treat at the Bakery In any Cypriot town or city, you’ll find bakeries on almost every corner, and in the mornings they’re filled with the irresistible scent of freshly baked bread, cakes, and pastries. They’re incredibly popular with the locals — and once you ...

Finding Light in the Darkness: My Journey with Mental Health

Image
If I’m honest, I never truly understood mental health growing up. I knew people had good days and bad ones, but I believed we were always in control of our minds. I thought if you felt low, you just needed to snap out of it. I saw others around me struggling, but I dismissed it—I thought they were being dramatic, seeking attention, or simply not strong enough. I rarely spoke about my emotions, and I hardly ever listened when others tried to speak to me about theirs. But the truth is, it catches up with you eventually. It caught up with me. And the realisation hit hard—our minds are incredibly powerful, but they need care, attention, and compassion. My own mental health challenges came completely out of the blue. I had just moved to Cyprus and met the love of my life, and then—I broke. Old wounds I’d buried deep began to resurface, and one day I woke up feeling trapped in a very dark place. I couldn’t "snap out of it" no matter how hard I tried. Anxiety took over. I became ...
